About Volt
The speed test that gets straight to the point.
Volt measures your internet connection speed in one click : download speed, upload speed and latency. No video ads, no sign-up, no waiting : just your speed, right away.
Our mission
Most speed tests are slow and bloated. Volt offers a reliable, instant measurement in a clear, modern interface.
What you will find on Volt
Beyond the test itself, Volt explains how to read and improve a connection. The methodology page details exactly how the measurement is made and what it does not tell you. The glossary defines every term, from Mbps to jitter. And our practical guides answer the most common questions:
How we write our guides
- Every piece of advice is based on how networks actually work and on recommendations published by platforms, manufacturers and regulators, never on a hunch.
- We give orders of magnitude and ways to check that you can reproduce at home, rather than promises.
- No content is sponsored and no provider pays to be mentioned. Advertising has no influence on what we write.
- Guides are reviewed when a technology or a recommendation changes. If you spot a mistake, tell us through the form below and we will fix it.
Our commitments
- No account, no sign-up.
- No test result kept by Volt.
- Never a made-up number: if a measurement is impossible, we say so.
- Anonymous visitor statistics, with no tracking cookies.
How is it funded ?
Volt is free, funded by unobtrusive advertising that covers the hosting costs.
